Kate’s research-led practice explores concepts surrounding the nature of site, archaeology and heritage and the impact of people on place. Kate works across-disciplines, the outcome of her research often taking the form of moving image and sound installations, resituated in the places they were made. She has developed her way of working through a series of recent commissions including "The Inner Quarry", Berry Head NNR, Brixham, a Smooth Space-TCCT partnership project (2012) and the Bucks Mills Cabin Residency, a National Trust-Appledore Arts partnership commission (2010).

Kate co-founded artist-led initiative Smooth Space with David Harbott in 2011.
